Singles

Well this hasn't been posted to in a long time. So here are a few singles that I compiled over the last month or so.

Two Door Cinema Club - Undercover Martyn (Download)
This Irish band, although they don't actually have a live drummer, have some great dance-y guitar songs on their debut album. (myspace)
Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside (Download)
My favorite song on the album by the Shins' James Mercer and Danger Mouse (myspace)
MGMT - Flash Delirium (Download)
This isn't the same MGMT as we know, but their new album is more than solid. (site)
The Radio Dept. - Heaven's on Fire (Download)
Great song off a solid album from this Swedish electronic shoegaze band. (myspace)
Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue (Download)
A lesser known artist but catchy song. This 2009 album has a somewhat similar feel to Broken Bells. (myspace)
Tokyo Police Club - Breakneck Speed (Download)
Tokyo Police Club is one of those bands that really, really doesn't get enough praise. Over their first EP (A Lesson in Crime) and full-length (Elephant Shell), just about every song was decent or better. This is the first single off of their forthcoming album, Champ. (site)

The Libertines & Calypso

Two garage rock bands, one new, one not so new.

The Libertines are the well-known garage rock band from England that released albums in 2002 and 2004 and subsequently broke up. I only just started listening to them and have really started to like them.
A similar style of band is Calypso from Brooklyn. They only have an EP out, but it's really promising. Look for more good material from them soon.

Post 3: Yeasayer

Yeasayer is a prog-rock group from Brooklyn that uses world-ish beats, but doesn't go over the experimental edge. Their new album, Odd Blood, Will be released February 9th, 2010. The first single, Ambling Alp, is almost reminiscent of Passion Pit synth-pop. The other song I'm posting, Tightrope, was featured on the Dark Was the Night compilation. Jordan says to download Sunrise because its funky fresh. Have fun with the music kids, don't get hurt dancing.
